I got into fox trotters because I wanted a horse that I could use for a greater variety of events. I wanted to do performance and versatility and I wanted to be able to show at a national show. I also wanted to improve my horsemanship. With a fox trotter, I could do all of that. I bought my first fox trotter in the Spring of 2010. His name was City Girls Bud, or just Buddy. I began showing him at Ava that first year and immediately began winning ribbons. In 2012, I won the Open Amateur Versatility World Grand Championship with him. I found him on Dream Horse and he really has been my dream horse. Sadly, I lost Buddy last year, but I still have our memories and I continue to ride and love fox trotters.
