St. Louis Regional Fox Trotters To Host Education Clinic

STLRFTNEWLOGO2013 cropThe St Louis Regional Fox Trotters (STLRFT) will be hosting a Missouri Fox Trotting Horse clinic on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Meritage Farm in Robertsville, MO.  The MFTHBA is financially supporting the clinic through the MFTHBA Affiliate Cost Share Program.

The 2016 clinic will kick off at 10:00 a.m. with a presentation from clinician, David Ogle, World Champion Missouri Fox Trotting Horse trainer. The presentation will consist of an overall view of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse, the breed’s gaits, importance of dentistry, various horse bit options and how they affect the horse, and a question and answer session. There will be a short break for lunch.  Lunch will be available for purchase at the clinic facilities.

After lunch, David will work directly with the horse and rider to explain and demonstrate the three correct gaits of the Fox Trotter—the flat foot walk, the fox trot and the canter

The clinic will end with a one-class horse show for the horse participants. They will be judged on the walk and the fox trot, and the clinician will critique each individual horse.

“This clinic will be the perfect event for anyone that is new to the breed or wants to perfect their horse’s gaits. David Ogle is known for his expertise in explaining the mechanics so it is easy to understand. The STLRFT club is very excited to be able to offer this opportunity to all Fox Trotter owners,” adds Chris McQueen, STLRFT Horse Clinic Chairperson.

Registration forms for both rider and auditors are available below or by contacting Chris McQueen at cmcqu2@yahoo.com.
