Ebony’s Golden Spirit is named Breeding Sire of the Year for the 1st time. Ebony’s Golden Spirit is owned and bred by Brian and Tara Land of Dora, Missouri.  Ebony’s Golden Spirit was sired by Jester’s Ebony and out of Frost Alert (by Bronze Alert).

The MFTHBA thanks Brian and Tara Land for their contributions to the future generations of Missouri Fox Trotters through their  stallion, Ebony’s Golden Spirit..  Ebony’s Golden Spirit and Mr. and Mrs. Land will be formally recognized for this accomplishment at the 2022 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity.

The MFTHBA Membership Committee established the Breeding Sire of the Year award to recognize stallions providing significant impact to the continuation of the breed.  In addition, the award was designed to encourage foal registration in a timely manner, something that helps the MFTHBA in its task to preserve the registry of the breed.

The criteria for the award are simple:

• All stallions who submit an on-time stallion breeding report are eligible.
• The 2021 Top Breeding Sires represent the stallions with the most foals born in 2021 and registered with the MFTHBA by December 31, 2021.

In 2021, Stallion Breeding Reports were submitted for 147 stallions. Those stallions came from 5 different countries and 21 different states.  46% of the stallions lived in the state of Missouri.
