MFTHBA Medal Program

6 Point Criteria for Categories: Pleasure Horse, Pleasure Driving, Hunter/Jumper, Model, Performance, Working Horse, Ranch Horse, and Timed Events: Shows qualifying under this category, as well as the classes where points are to be accumulated, must be open to the public and judged by a licensed judge. A license judge is defined as a judge that is licensed by a generally acknowledged organization (i.e., breed association, etc.). Shows that are not publicly open (i.e., are limited to boarders, club members, etc.) are not eligible. • Point requirements for medals: o Silver: 250 points o Gold: 500 points Competitive Trail The Competitive Trail category includes events sponsored or sanctioned by the North American Trail Ride Conference (NATRC). Events sponsored by similar organizations may also qualify. Participants should contact the MFTHBA with information on events and the sponsoring organization before participating to determine if the event will qualify. Points in this category will be awarded based on the 10 place point schedule regardless of the number of places recognized by the competition. Double points will be awarded for horses competing in the Open Division. o Silver: 250 points o Gold: 500 points Endurance The Endurance category includes events sponsored or sanctioned by the American Endurance Ride Conference (AERC). Events sponsored by similar organizations may also qualify. Participants should contact the MFTHBA with information on events and the sponsoring organization before participating to determine if miles will be eligible. o Level 1-350 miles o Level 2-750 miles Dressage Qualifying dressage events include events recognized by the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA). Events sponsored by similar organizations may also qualify. Participants should contact the MFTHBA with information on events and the sponsoring organization before participating to determine if the event will qualify. Points will be awarded based on test score using the following scale: 60 % - 64.999%: 2 point; 65% - 69.999% 3 points; 70% - 74.999% 4 points, and 75% & above: 5 points. Double points are awarded for Level 3 and 4 tests. o Silver: 250 points o Gold: 500 points
