Shawnee National Trail Ride @ Little Lusk Creek Trail Lodge

National Trail Ride June 22-26, 2022. Little Lusk Creek/Shawnee National Forest at the Little Lusk Creek Trail lodge. Hundreds of miles of trails in the Shawnee National Forest with rock formations, forest riding, bluffs and a secret canyon and a cave. Numbered trails and there could be some waterfalls. Large spacious trailer sites up to 50′ $30 per night 50 sites with electric and water, primitive camping at $15 per night. Covered stalls for the horses are $7 per night. Great Lakes National Trail Ride, July 7-10, 2022 at the Waterloo Recreation Area, Waterloo Horseman’s Camp in Chelsea, MI. This ride is sponsored by the Michigan Foxtrotting Horse Association and the Indiana Foxtrotter Association. There are primitive campsites for $23 per day or cabins with pen for $68-$90. Trails: Sandy soil with some rocky areas and water crossings. Heavily wooded hardwood and pine. Four well marked trails comprising 40 miles. Maps also available. Horse shoes or boots are recommended. Be prepared for bugs. Got to midnr.reservations.com pr call 1-800-44parks. Camp is off of Clear Lake Road, go right on Loveland road. Horseman’s Camp is on the left after Sugarloaf people camp. VAult toilets, showers at the people camp. Non-local firewood prohibited. Sandhill Crane Vineyard, swimming beach and fishing area nearby. Waterloo Village Market is close by. Potluck supper at the pavilion on Saturday night. Both affiliates will provide the meat, bring a dish to share. There will be a $10 per rider charge to the MFTHBA.
