100,000 Foal Registered with the MFTHBA

Hello, Nighty Night, the 100,000th registered Missouri Fox Trotter! Nighty Night is a smokey black filly born on April 11, 2014. She is a blue-papered foal out of Multi-World Champion Stallion Southern Nights, also a smokey black, and Legend’s Fancy Lady M. Her registration number is 14-100000.

Both the stallion and the mare are owned by Bob and Pat Redfearn of Bolivar, Missouri. Nighty Night was born on their farm, Three Waters Ranch, just one of 5 Southern Nights foals born on their farm this year and registered with the MFTHBA. One more is expected in December. Bob and Pat have spent several years building a breeding program around their stallion, Southern Nights, who started his career as the 2004 Open Two-Year-Old World Champion. Bob and Pat strive to produce horses with gentle temperaments, gorgeous confirmation and naturally smooth gaits. They believe Nighty Night will live up to those standards. According to close friend, Jody Lynn Jokisch, “Nighty Night is a total sweetheart. She follows everyone around in the pasture as if they are her best friends.” It sounds like she already has the temperament Bob and Pat are looking for.

The Redfearns enjoy sharing their enthusiasm for Missouri Fox Trotters with new horse owners. “Southern Nights and his foals have helped me show people interested in our breed that the Missouri Fox Trotter is capable of doing it ALL! His foals have been successful at performance, model, versatility, trail, and both western and English pleasure. It’s very rewarding to promote a breed like that. I’ve sold several horses to people purchasing their first fox trotter and then they have come back to buy another one! It’s true what they say about the Missouri Fox Trotter, ‘To Ride One is to Own One,’” says Bob.

The Redfearns also enjoy the beauty and companionship that their Missouri Fox Trotters share with them. According to Bob, “I start my day admiring my colts on the ranch. My wife, Pat, and I love to watch them run and play in the pasture. Our horses are very special to us. We truly believe the Missouri Foxtrotter is the very best of horse breeds and we are happy to promote it! We are excited and honored to own the 100,000th registered MFT.”
