Bryce Canyon National Trail Ride
Bryce
UT
Hosted by the Utah Fox Trotting Horse Affiliate. As part of the National Trail Ride on Friday, May 24th we will ride a section of the Rim Trail followed by a potluck dinner. The affiliate will provide the hamburgers and hot dogs, please bring a salad, desert, drink or side dish. Dinner will be a 7pm. Please RSVP Mike Huntsman at 435-315-6557. We will be riding inside the park on Saturday, May 25th. Because the park officials prefer we ride in small groups rather than a large one, those riders wanting to ride inside the park will make their own reservations with the park official (Dana 435-834-4736). There will be a ride starting at 7:30am, 12:30 pm 4:30 pm, 5:00pm and continuing each half hour until sunset.
In order to ride in the park a current coggins, health certificate and travel permit(brand inspection for out of state horses) is required.
Primitive camping during the trip; From Hwy 89 head East on Hwy 12 for about 10.5 miles. Turn right (South) on the Tropic Reservoir Road(dirt road). Drive 13 m to the Kanab Creek turn off. Turn right, drive 3/4 of a mile and turn right. Pull through the green metal gate and find a place to park/camp. Ruby’s Inn has accommodations and stall rentals for those preferring not to primitive camp.
