Grand Central Named 2018 Stallion of the Year

Grand Central is owned by Joe and Jennifer Stewart.

The 2018 MFTHBA Stallion of the Year is Grand Central. He was bred by Steve Maxey of Watkinsville, Georgia, and he is owned by Joe and Jennifer Stewart of Farmington, Arkansas. This is the sixth straight year that Grand Central has been named to the Stallion of the Year Top 5, and it is the fifth year in a row that he has won the top honor.

Grand Central had a number of offspring in the winner’s circle in 2018. A few of his offspring include:  Open 5 Year and Older World Grand Champion, Lady Antebellum., owned by Lee Hackler, of Alma, Arkansas, the Open Amateur 2 Year Old World Grand Champion, Grand’s Black Beauty, owned by Paul Phillips of Springfield, Missouri, and the Open Amateur Specialty Five Years & Older World Grand Champion, Penn Stations Firecracker, owned by Spencer Fleischman of Elsberry, Missouri.

Grand Central will be honored at the 2019 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity along with the other members of the Stallion of the Year Top 5.

The Stallion of the Year Award:

Designed to honor the stallion with the most successful offspring at MFTHBA sponsored shows, a point system was applied to pre-designated classes.  All World Grand Champion classes, Spring Show Championship Classes and Three-Year-Old Futurity preliminary and championship classes were included in the calculations.  In 2018, 103 stallions earned points toward the award.
