The MFTHBA is seeking individuals interested in becoming Designated Qualified Persons (DQPs) to assist in enforcing the Horse Protection Act (HPA). DQPs play a crucial role in ensuring fair competition and the welfare of Missouri Fox Trotters by inspecting horses for compliance with the HPA and MFTHBA rules.

DQP Requirements

To become a DQP, individuals must:

• Must attend an initial DQP training for new DQP’s.
• Pass an examination on HPA regulations and proper inspection procedures.
• Complete three (3) apprenticeships to be initially certified.
• Must be or become a member of the MFTHBA.
