MFTHBA to Host Member Cookout Prior to World Show and Celebration

MFT Full LogoBy popular request, the MFTHBA member cookout is returning to the World Show and Celebration. Held last year, this pre-event celebration was hosted by the MFTHBA Membership Committee. “As soon as the event ended last year, we had requests for us to host the event again in 2015,” said Amy Stangl, MFTHBA Membership Committee Chairman. “Everyone enjoyed having some time to socialize and mingle prior to the start of all the activities associated with the Celebration.”

The Membership Committee started the event as a small thank you to the MFTHBA membership. “The MFTHBA appreciates the support of its many members worldwide. With so many coming to the World Show and Celebration to honor and celebrate our amazing breed of horse, we thought it was a great time to stop and thank our members,” added Stangl. The World Show and Celebration is a unique event, which includes a world championship show along with daily trail rides and other events celebrating the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse.

The menu for the Member Cookout will include hot dogs, polish sausage, sides, dessert, and drinks. There is no cost for MFTHBA members. Non-members attending the Celebration are welcome to enjoy the meal for only $5. In addition, MFTHBA members in attendance will be entered into a raffle for various prizes including a free RV camping spot at the 2016 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity.

The cookout will start at 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 5, in the Roy Williams Pavilion on the grounds of the MFTHBA World Headquarters. The Membership Committee requests attendees RSVP to assist them in purchasing the appropriate amount of food for the event. Individuals may RSVP online or they may contact the MFTHBA office at 417-683-2468. All those attending are reminded to bring their lawn chair to the cookout as seating is limited.

For those with a sweet tooth the MFTHBA Youth Committee will be hosting a bake sale during the cookout with funds going to the Youth Association. Attendees are welcome to bring a few dollars to stock up on desserts for the entire week!
