New Country/English Pleasure High Point Award to Debut in 2025

The MFTHBA Show Committee is excited to announce the launch of a new award aimed at celebrating excellence in the pleasure division—the Country/English Pleasure High Point Award. This new recognition will debut at the 2025 World Show and Celebration, with a custom buckle awarded to the winning horse during the highly anticipated Saturday night performance.

The award was developed in response to growing interest in pleasure-style classes and the desire to highlight horses that consistently perform well across both MFTHBA-sponsored shows. The award will be based on cumulative points earned at the Spring Show & Three-Year-Old Futurity and the World Show & Celebration.

How It Works

This is a horse-based award, meaning that multiple exhibitors may show the horse in qualifying classes throughout the season. Eligible classes must follow the MFTHBA Rule Book and include:

  • At the Futurity:
    • English Pleasure
    • Country Pleasure
  • At the Celebration:
    • English Pleasure
    • Country Pleasure
    • Pleasure Championship

Point System

Points will be calculated based on the number of horses placed in each qualifying class. The system ensures that classes with larger entries offer greater point-earning potential.

  • Example: If 10 ribbons are awarded in a class, 1st place will receive 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, and so on through 10th place receiving 1 point.
  • If only 5 horses are placed, 1st will receive 5 points, down to 5th place receiving 1 point.

The horse with the highest cumulative point total across the designated classes at both events will be named the Country/English Pleasure High Point Horse of the Year.

Sponsored Recognition

Thanks to a generous sponsor, the award will be presented in the form of a custom buckle, to be awarded during the Saturday night performance at the World Show and Celebration.

The MFTHBA Show Committee is proud to introduce this award as a way to encourage participation in pleasure-style classes and recognize the versatility, consistency, and quality of Missouri Fox Trotters competing in this division.
