Update to DQP Inspection Process Announced

MFTHBA DQP Administrator, Randall Dennis, has announced changes to the DQP inspection process for the 2018 show season.  Changes are based on guidance from the United State Department of Agriculture received during the annual DQP training.

Flat shod horses, which includes Missouri Fox Trotting Horses, may be inspected with the saddles on.  Stirrups must be tied up during the inspection process to prohibit any interference with the inspection process.

In addition, a new USDA regulation requires that all horses be checked with a hoof tester each time they are inspected by DQP.

These two changes will be implemented immediately.  Exhibitors with questions regarding these changes should contact the MFTHBA DQP Administrator.
