Winner Announced for 2017 Trainer of the Year

Brian Oglesby was named the 2017 MFTHBA Trainer of the Year. Mr. Oglesby will be formally recognized at the 2018 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity.

The Trainer of the Year award was designed to recognize the achievements of professional horsemen and women involved in the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse breed.  The three nominees for the 2017 award represent the work ethic, dedication, and hard work needed to make a living in the equine world.

“David Ogle, Brian Oglesby, and Jennifer Vaught are all committed to the horses they train, and their commitment has had a positive impact on our breed and the Association,” said Amy Stangl, MFTHBA Membership Committee Chairman.

While it was clear that the MFTHBA membership admires all the nominated trainers, one stood out above the rest.  The MFTHBA membership voted Brian Oglesby as the 2017 MFTHBA Trainer of the Year.

While Mr. Oglesby’s nomination letters acknowledged all of his work with the horses he trained throughout the year, the nomination letters went out of their way to commend Mr. Oglesby for his work with his riders.  He was applauded for his ability to be a ground coach and instill confidence in his riders.

The MFTHBA is grateful to all the equine professionals that dedicate their lives to the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse and congratulates Brian Oglesby on being named the 2017 MFTHBA Trainer of the Year.

Mr. Oglesby will be formally recognized at the 2018 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity.
