Phantom of the Ozarks has been named a MFTHBA Top 5 Stallion for the first time. Stallions are recognized for this award based on points earned by offspring in designated classes at the MFTHBA national shows. Points are assigned based on placings within the class.
Phantom of the Ozarks, a beautiful perlino stallion, had offspring earning points in the performance arena including the 2014 Open Three Year Old World Grand Champion, Phantoms Ozark Jubilee R. Sired by Pride’s Top Brass and out of the mare First Alert, Phantom of the Ozarks is owned by Alford Stables in Buffalo, Missouri.
Phantom of the Ozarks, along with the other 4 stallions making up the 2014 Top 5, will be formally recognized at the 2015 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity this coming June.
The MFTHBA congratulates Phantom of the Ozarks and the Alford family. We appreciate their contributions to the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse breed and their support of the MFTHBA.
More on the Stallion of the Year:
Designed to honor the stallion with the most successful offspring at MFTHBA sponsored shows, a point system was applied to pre-designated classes. All World Grand Champion classes, Spring Show Championship Classes and Three Year Old Futurity classes were included in the calculations. In 2014, 130 stallions earned points toward the award.
This week we will highlight each stallion in the Top 5 for the award leading up to the naming of the 2014 MFTHBA Stallion of the Year on Friday.
