Each year the National Association of Breeders hosts the National Breeders Championship. This premier three day show is located at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds in Springfield, Missouri. The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse is featured in NBC and Non-NBC performance classes. The differences are in the paybacks and the entry deadlines. NBC classes must be pre-entered and the non-NBC class entries can made up until the day of the show. The paybacks of NBC classes are generated from entry fees and stallion nomination fees. Paybacks are based on the number of entries in each age division and the number of nominated NBC Stallions in the year that the current 2 year olds were conceived. Paybacks for first place in a championship class can be over $2,000, depending on the number of entries in that age division. The paybacks for the non-NBC classes are a set schedule starting at $125 for first place in a championship class.

The Missouri Fox Trotting Horse Breed Association (MFTHBA) will host a judges training seminar during the 2015 World Show and Celebration. The seminar, scheduled to start at 9 a.m. on Monday September 7, is open to those interested in getting their MFTHBA judges’ cards for the first time as well as those wishing to renew their current card. The training will be held in the Hall of Fame Room, located at the MFTHBA World Headquarters in Ava, Missouri.
During the three hour seminar, potential judges will review the policies and procedures outlined in the MFTHBA Rule Book for judges as well as receive education on the MFTHBA’s standard for the gaits of the Missouri Fox Trotting Horse. The first two hours of the seminar will be classroom work in the Hall of Fame Room. The last hour will conducted at the Dale Esther Arena.
Those interested in attending should contact the MFTHBA office at (417) 683-2468 or foxtrot@mfthba.com to register and pay the $25 registration fee. Individuals should register by September 1, 2015.
Prior to the workshop, attendees should thoroughly review the 2015 MFTHBA Rule Book. Attendees may take the judges test prior to the workshop or complete it during the week of the World Show and Celebration. Time will not be allotted during the workshop for completion of the test.

Did you know you can earn double points for participating in a National Trail Ride at the World Show and Celebration? If you are a MFTHBA member from Regions 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, or 10 you can earn double points when you trail ride a registered Missouri Fox Trotter at the Celebration. The National Trail Ride Program not only provides organized trail rides around the country for Missouri Fox Trotting Horse enthusiasts to participate in but they also recognize MFTHBA members for their involvement. After earning 10 points, MFTHBA members receive a beautiful belt buckle with additional awards at 20 and 30 points as well.
