The MFTHBA is always looking for ways to share information with MFTHBA members and Missouri Fox Trotting Horse enthusiasts. Its newest communication tool is a mobile alert system. “We are always looking for new ways to augment the traditional communication tools utilized by the MFTHBA,” shared Amber Wilson, MFTHBA Promotions Committee Chairman. “We know we have quite a few members that regularly text; however, the MFTHBA hasn’t had the option to communicate this way.” Until now!

The MFTHBA Promotions Committee presented a proposal to the MFTHBA Board of Directors, which they promptly approved at the August 2015 Board meeting.

“We are going to test out the new system over the next couple months and then ask for feedback from those receiving the texts,” said Wilson. “If people like receiving information in this manner, we will continue the service.”

Subscribers to the mobile alerts will receive special announcements, reminders on approaching deadlines, and information on specials. In addition, special groups are available for the Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity and the World Show and Celebration.

Instructions for opting in to receive the mobile alerts are below.

• General MFTHBA Information: Receive messages on registry deadline reminders, promotions and special announcements. Up to 1 message per week. To join, text MFTHBA to 41411.
• World Show and Celebration: Receive messages about show deadlines and special announcements. During the event, we will also share changes to show schedule (i.e. rain delay information, etc.). Throughout most of the year, subscribers can expect up to 2 messages each month. Messages will increase as the event gets closer. Subscribers should expect up to 3 messages per day during the event itself. Joining this group will automatically add you to the general MFTHBA information group. For mobile alerts on the World Show and Celebration, text MFTCELEBRATION to 41411.
• Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity: Receive messages about show deadlines and special announcements. During the event, we will also share changes to show schedule (i.e. rain delay information, etc.) and reminders about scheduled events. Throughout most of the year, subscribers can expect up to 2 messages per month. Messages will increase as the event gets closer.
