Grand Central Named Top 5 Breeding Sire

Grand Central is owned by Joe and Jennifer Stewart.

The MFTHBA congratulates Grand Central on being named a Top 5 MFTHBA Breeding sire.  Owned by Joe and Jennifer Stewart of Farmington, Arkansas, Grand Central is a well-known name when it comes to yearend honors.  Grand Central was honored as the MFTHBA 2014 & 2015 Stallion of the Year and was also named a Top 5 Breeding Sire in 2012, 2013, and 2015.  Grand Central had a highly decorated show career in both the performance and model arenas.  Now his offspring are carrying on his legacy in the show ring. Grand Central was bred by Steve Maxey of Watkinsville, Georgia, and was sired by Prince Jester’s Shadowfax and out of the mare Madam Cassey Fox (Missouri’s Cassey Jones).

The MFTHBA thanks the Stewart family for their contributions to the future generations of Missouri Fox Trotters through their stallion Grand Central.  Grand Central and Mr. and Mrs. Stewart will be formally recognized for this accomplishment at the 2017 Spring Show and Three Year Old Futurity.

The Breeding Sire of the Year award was established by the MFTHBA Membership Committee to recognize stallions providing significant impact to the continuation of the breed.  In addition, the award was designed to encourage foal registration in a timely manner, something that helps the MFTHBA in its task to preserve the registry of the breed.

The criteria for the award are simple:

  • All stallions who submit an on-time stallion breeding report are eligible.
  • The 2016 Top 5 list represents the stallions with the most foals born in 2016 and registered with the MFTHBA by December 31, 2016.
