Proposed Rule Change

The following proposed rule changes have been approved by the board to be published for MFTHBA member feedback.

MFTHBA members should review these changes and supply feedback to their regional director. Contact Information for your Board Members.

Once Proposed Rule Changes are posted, members must be allowed a minimum of 60 days to provide feedback. Following this period, final approval will be voted on by the MFTHBA Board of Directors. If changes are approved they will officially become part of the rule book on January 1 the following year.

Proposed rule change to Out of State classes:
Page 75, H. 2

2. Out of State: Exhibitors may hold either an Amateur or Professional card. The Out of State class
is open to any horse whose owner of record resides outside the state of Missouri. In addition, the exhibitor must also reside outside the state of Missouri.

Proposed change:
2. Out of State: Exhibitors may hold either an Amateur or Professional card. The exhibitor must reside outside the state of Missouri.

Reason for change: In order to attempt to increase participation is the class by removing the ownership restrictions for horse exhibited in the class.

Proposed rule change for Weanling Model:

Page 34, G. 1. a
G. Horses Age and Sex:
1. The age of a horse shall be computed on the basis of a calendar year starting on January 1 of the year foaled. It is a weanling during the calendar year in which it is foaled and a yearling during the first calendar year following its foaling date, regardless of the time of year foaled.
a) For Show Purposes ONLY, foals born September 1 through December 31 are considered to fall in the following year. This provision is not valid for MFTPR.

Proposed change:

Reason for change: It is hard for spring weanlings to compete with 11-12 month old horses in the weanling model class.
